the life of a typeface (designer).

After coming up with an idea for a typeface, Edmondson has to prepare to actually design it by sketching. Often, he fills entire sheets of paper with hundreds, if not thousands, of letterforms during this process. This stage is extremely important—without the foundation of sketching, Edmondson won’t have anything to build from. Similarly, the creation of OHno type was vital to Edmondson’s journey as a type designer. Without starting his own foundry, he wouldn’t have had a way to promote his own work or develop his own style, which he’s now known for.
